1) What types of mold reports can you review?

Most residential mold reports are eligible, including common air/spore trap results, surface/tape/swab results, and many lab summary formats. If your report shows mold types and values with sample locations, it’s usually reviewable.

2) Do I need an outdoor sample for you to interpret my results?

No. An outdoor/control sample can improve interpretation for air tests, but it isn’t required. When no outdoor baseline exists, we interpret using the pattern across your indoor samples, the mold types present, and practical building science indicators that help decide next steps.

3) What will I receive after the review?

You’ll receive a clear, structured interpretation that focuses on:

  • What your results most likely indicate (in plain English)
  • What matters and what doesn’t (to avoid overreacting)
  • Most likely source conditions to investigate (moisture pathways, likely zones)
  • Practical next steps (DIY-friendly or professional escalation guidance)

4) How fast is the turnaround?

Turnaround depends on volume and report complexity. If you need a time-critical decision (purchase/sale, sensitive occupant, or time-sensitive remediation planning), note that in your submission so the review can be prioritized when possible.

5) What information helps you interpret my report correctly?

Your lab report is the core requirement. If you have any of the following, it can improve accuracy:

  • Whether samples are air, surface, or dust
  • Any known leak/moisture history (roof, plumbing, windows, basement/crawlspace)
  • Whether windows were open, fans running, cleaning/construction occurred near sampling
  • Which rooms are most symptomatic or have odor/staining (if applicable)

6) Can you tell me if I need remediation?

We provide a practical interpretation and next-step plan based on your results and context. In some cases, results strongly suggest an indoor source that warrants targeted investigation and corrective action. In other cases, results may reflect dust/resuspension or outdoor contribution. The goal is to prevent both common mistakes: over-scoping and missing a real driver.

7) Where should I start if I’m confused by my results?
